The Mountain Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office (Habersham, Rabun, Banks, and Stephens Counties in Northeast GA) is seeking to hire 2 attorneys — Assistant Public Defender I & IV. Primary duties consist of representing indigent individuals with criminal cases in Superior Court. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia or able to practice under the Student Practice Rule, if applying for the Attorney I position.
Assistant Public Defender I: Criminal defense experience is preferred but not required. No Moot Court, law review, or a certain class rank required. We will mentor the right person. Candidates with a experience working and living in rural communities or a strong desire to do so will do well here.
