We are seeking an experienced Estate Planning and Probate Attorney to join our Myrtle Beach practice. This role offers the opportunity to manage a robust probate and estate administration caseload while also advising clients on comprehensive estate planning matters. You will work closely with individuals and families during sensitive and often difficult situations, providing both proactive planning and thoughtful guidance through estate administration.

The position provides room for professional growth, autonomy, and the ability to help shape and expand the firm’s estate planning and probate practice.

Key responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of probate and estate administration matters from opening through closing
• Advise and communicate directly with clients, heirs, personal representatives, and fiduciaries
• Prepare and file probate pleadings, petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents
• Represent clients in probate court hearings and related proceedings
• Draft and review estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives
• Counsel clients on estate planning strategies tailored to their personal, financial, and family goals
• Coordinate with financial institutions, accountants, and other professionals as needed
• Resolve creditor claims and address disputes arising in estate administration
• Ensure compliance with South Carolina probate laws and court deadlines
• Handle matters with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality client service

Hiring criteria

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in South Carolina
• Experience in probate estate administration, and/or estate planning preferred
• Strong knowledge of South Carolina probate procedures and requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters independently and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Compassionate, client-focused approach to legal representation
