Recruiting for office(s) in: Columbia, SC
Type of organization: Law Firm

Job Title: Attorney – Family Law

We are a growing family law firm located in the Historic Arcade Building on Main Street in Columbia, SC. Our case load continues to grow, so we are in need of an additional attorney. Experience can be anywhere from no experience to decades of experience. If you have no family law experience, we will teach you. If you have significant family law or litigation experience, compensation will be based on that experience. Ninety percent of family law involves negotiating settlements between parties, which includes helping parties reach an agreement on custody and visitation when children are involved, and determining an appropriate split of their assets and debts. It’s fine if you have no financial experience. Unless you are a trust-fund baby and have no concept of daily life, then you will have no problem relating to what the parties are dealing with. You will be a co-worker; there are no “bosses” at our firm. Everyone is treated like a human being, regardless of position. If you expect a paralegal to call you Mr./Ms., then we’re not your firm. Since this is family law, you may find words flying around the office that your mother would not approve of. If you are offended easily, we may not be your firm either, although we are willing to teach the finer use of four-lettered words (never to be used in court though). You will have extreme flexibility in your schedule and will have no minimum billable hours hanging over your head, so you must be self-motivated.
