Job Title: Assistant District Attorney

The Chemung County District Attorney’s Office is seeking several full-time Assistant District Attorneys, for hire. These positions would include practice in Chemung County Court, Elmira City Court, and various Justice Courts.
Assistant District Attorneys would be responsible for the prosecution of felony level cases in County Court, misdemeanor and violation level cases in Elmira City Court and local justice courts. Other responsibilities would include the investigation, preparation and presentation of criminal cases, as well as appellate work arising from convictions.
The unique size of this office maximizes the impact of each individual attorney. The position allows the attorneys to engage fully with all aspects of criminal practice and experience a diverse and fulfilling career in government. This position provides a great opportunity to develop trial and appellate advocacy skills.
