Job Title: Associate Attorney and Litigation Paralegal

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY:
The Associate Attorney will perform a variety of essential duties & responsibilities.
Provide legal support.
Complete extensive case-related research into relevant laws and regulations, negotiate on behalf of clients, draft and interpret contracts and legal documents, and oversee compliance to these documents.
Plan and present arguments and counterarguments in a court of law.
Maintain Client Relationships throughout any legal process, creating and maintaining a good rapport with a firm’s clients is a key task for Associate Attorneys.
Communicating often and explaining complex legal proceedings and concepts

• Strong spelling and grammar skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Suite
• Knowledge of Case Management Software
• Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
The candidate should have excellent academic credentials, must be licensed in, and be in good standing with, the South Carolina Bar.

LITIGATION PARALEGAL:
The litigation paralegal works with the attorney and will perform many tasks during the litigation and trial process.

• Case and document management; organize and maintain physical and electronic files
• Basic administrative tasks
• Draft and review discovery requests and responses, motions and pleadings
• Electronic file with State and Federal Court
• Maintain attorney calendar; schedule discovery and ADR deadlines, meetings, trials and hearing dates; schedule depositions and mediations
• Manage correspondence between attorney, clients and various courts
• Prepare for hearings, mediation and trials; makes trial notebooks, draft subpoenas, schedule trial preparation meetings with the clients
• Other tasks as designated by attorney
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail;
