ABOUT THE ROLE:
Parker Poe is seeking a litigation associate with 1 to 4 years of experience to join its growing Construction, Development & Condemnation Practice Group in Charleston, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will have experience representing parties in complex construction litigation, including drafting pleadings, arguing motions, and handling discovery, including depositions. The applicant must possess exceptional communication skills, research, and writing skills. Candidates must be currently licensed in South Carolina.
ABOUT THE PRACTICE:
We serve a diverse group of clients representing all participants in the construction field, including contractors, owners, developers, and others. We provide consultation and assistance in the negotiation, preparation, and review of construction contracts. We also represent clients in mediation, arbitration and litigation in both federal and state courts. Our attorneys also appear before government regulatory bodies regarding licensing and building code issues. Some of the more frequent disputes involve defective work, delays, unanticipated conditions, lien rights, surety claims, change orders and payment issues.
