Job Title: Associate Attorney

Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and diligent Associate Attorney to join our team, focusing on both bankruptcy and family law. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise across two critical practice areas under the mentorship of an experienced attorney. The successful candidate will assist in representing clients in bankruptcy proceedings, divorce, custody disputes, and related litigation.

Key Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court officials, and other stakeholders.

Develop case strategies and prepare legal briefs, memoranda, and correspondence.

Stay current with developments in both bankruptcy and family law.

Bankruptcy Law:

Assist in preparing and filing bankruptcy petitions, schedules, motions, and related documents.

Research bankruptcy statutes, case law, and procedural rules.

Represent clients in bankruptcy hearings and negotiations under supervision.

Analyze financial statements, creditor claims, and related documentation.

Family Law:

Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, agreements, and other family law documents.

Conduct legal research on family law issues including divorce, custody, child support, and asset division.

Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and negotiations under supervision.

Maintain case files and ensure compliance with all filing deadlines.

Hiring criteria

Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Admission to the South Carolina Bar or eligibility for admission.

Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.

High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Interest in developing expertise in both bankruptcy and family law.
