Job Title: Summer Law Clerk
The Bureau of Coastal Management (BCM) is a Program area of SCDES. BCM is looking for 1 Intern for Summer 2025. Students/candidates must be interested in environmental law, specifically from a state regulatory perspective. OCRM is responsible for implementing the South Carolina Coastal Tidelands and Wetlands Act as well as other state laws and regulations within the eight coastal counties. Our mission is to protect the quality of the coastal environment and promote the economic and social improvement of the coastal zone and of all the people of the State. As a Law Clerk/Intern you will participate in a wide variety of pretrial work (legal research; brief writing; deposition preparation, etc.) as well as having the opportunity to make site visits with staff to barrier islands and other locations where permitting or enforcement activity is contemplated.
