Job Title: Staff Attorney

Under supervision of the General Counsel, the attorney will perform legal research duties for judges of the Administrative Law Court.
The attorney will: research, summarize and evaluate motions, petitions, transcripts and briefs; draft and review proposed orders and decisions;
work together with the judges’ law clerks; and provide assistance to the judges and General Counsel, as needed, to include attendance in court hearings.

Hiring criteria

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
A Juris Doctor degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school and membership in the South Carolina Bar.

Preferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of professional legal experience involving legal research and writing, such as a judicial clerkship or appellate experience; thorough knowledge of administrative law; proficiency in computerized legal research using Westlaw.
